Which DBS Check?
There are three levels of DBS check:
Basic DBS check – Also known as a CRB Check or Basic Disclosure. This checks the applicants criminal history for any unspent convictions or conditional cautions the applicant may have.
Standard DBS Check – This check is only available to employers to obtain on behalf of their employees. This searches the applicants criminal history for any cautions, reprimands, warnings and convictions.
Enhanced
DBS Check – Enhanced
DBS checks show the same information as standard checks, plus any
additional information held by local police considered relevant to
the role in question. An individual cannot apply for a Enhanced DBS
check themselves; this must be applied and processed through an
organisation that the individual is working for.
